Police Arrests Mother For Allegedly Abusing Her 10-Year-Old Son In Lagos

 

In the early hours of today, a case of a Ten year old boy Divine Onyebuchi chimobi was allegedly assaulted by his mother.

According to reports, CSP Jide Thomson of Bond FM who raised the alarm said was Divine was brutally address by his mother Peace Onyebuchi with several wounds, swollen and teeth bites causing so much damages and deformation on the poor boy Shibiri area of Ajangbadi Lagos State.

Advocates for children and volunrable persons network ACVPN, Sabi your right initiative SYRI alongside a journalist were present at the scene of event to rescue the boy from the mother to Shibiri police divisional station for proper documentation of the abuse.

A correspondent of Amebo Feeds Online Tv, Olayiwola Ibrahim in an interview with the proprietress of Emjossy school where Divine attends states that she cautioned her mother over the abuse of the boy severally before she withdrew her son from attending the school anymore.

His class teacher who does not want her name mentioned also noted that Divine was brilliant, obedient and serious with his studies while in school adding that several times they have called the mother to order  with a treat of arresting her if she eventually continues with her ways of maltreating him.

In her remarks she urge the state government to charge and prosecute her for child abuse purposefully under section 1 to 28 of child right law 2007 and Lagos state domestic violence law 2015, violence against person prohibition act VAAPP 2015.

The Divisional police officer SP Hamisu Magaji commended the effort of all the personnel who made the case known for rescuing of the poor boy. 

Hamisu added that sensitization of child abuse should continue both on radio and tv in order to educate members of the public to desist from such act.
