In a momentous gathering marked by admiration and gratitude, the Amalgamated Union of Public Corporations, Civil Service Technical and Recreational Service Employees (AUPCTRE), OPIC Branch, on Friday, December 12, 2025, conferred an Award of Honour on Alhaji Yisa Ismaila Adebayo, fondly described as the “Heart of Humanity.”
The event, held at the OPIC Secretariat Hall, brought together union members, community leaders, education advocates, and well-wishers who had come to celebrate a man whose life’s work continues to uplift individuals and reshape communities through education, mentorship, and empowerment initiatives.
Presenting the award, the Branch Chairman, Comrade Ademola Thanni, praised Alhaji Adebayo’s unwavering commitment to human development, noting that his contributions have created opportunities for countless young people and underprivileged families.
He described Adebayo as “a tireless advocate for progress and a beacon of hope whose impact extends far beyond the walls of OPIC.”
Comrade Thanni explained that the award was not merely a gesture of appreciation but a formal recognition of Adebayo’s long-standing devotion to community service. “His efforts in promoting education, fostering empowerment, and supporting the less privileged have become a model worthy of emulation,” he said.
Alhaji Adebayo, visibly moved by the honour, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the union for deeming him worthy of such recognition. He reaffirmed his commitment to continue championing causes that improve lives, particularly in the areas of youth development and educational advancement. According to him, “Service to humanity is a responsibility we all share, and I am humbled to play my part in building a better society.”
