The Odogbolu Local Government Area of Ogun State is set to commission a number of newly completed development projects as part of activities marking the administration’s 22 months in office under the leadership of the Executive Chairman, Hon. (Dr.) Babatunde Oyetola Diya.
The commissioning ceremony, scheduled for Thursday, September 17, 2026, is expected to bring together traditional rulers, political leaders, community leaders, religious bodies, youth and women groups, civil society organisations, professional associations and other stakeholders from within and outside Odogbolu.
The event, with the theme “22 Months of Building Odogbolu Local Government’s Future Together,” will take place at the Odogbolu Mini-Sports Arena, Federal Government College Road, Odogbolu, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
According to the invitation issued by the Secretary of the local government, Deacon Stanley Davies Olunogun, the commissioning is being organised to showcase the administration’s development strides and its commitment to improving the welfare and living conditions of residents.
The projects are being presented as part of the local government’s contribution to the implementation of the ISEYA agenda of the Ogun State Government under the leadership of Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, with emphasis on grassroots development and people-oriented governance.
Since assuming office, the Diya-led administration has positioned infrastructure and community development as key components of its governance priorities, with the latest commissioning providing an opportunity for residents and stakeholders to assess the impact of ongoing interventions across the local government.
The event is also expected to serve as a platform for the administration to highlight its achievements over the past 22 months, while strengthening collaboration between the local government and various stakeholders in the pursuit of sustainable development.
Stakeholders are expected to use the occasion to engage with the local government leadership, review the progress recorded so far and identify areas requiring further attention as Odogbolu continues to pursue development at the grassroots.
The administration has therefore extended a cordial invitation to all stakeholders and residents to participate in the commissioning ceremony and join in celebrating what it described as a collective journey towards building a stronger and more prosperous future for Odogbolu.
The commissioning is expected to be a significant milestone in the tenure of Hon. (Dr.) Babatunde Oyetola Diya and a demonstration of the local government’s alignment with the broader development vision of the Ogun State Government.
