The Chairman of the Central Coordinate Movement (CCM), Alhaji Taiwo Elewide, popularly known as Big Champion Akile of Egbaland, has welcomed Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as YAYI, back to Nigeria following his holiday abroad with his wife.
Elewide, while receiving YAYI back into the country, described the senator’s return as significant as political activities gradually gather momentum ahead of the 2027 Ogun State governorship election.
According to the CCM chairman, the period of rest and family time afforded YAYI an opportunity to recharge ahead of the demanding political engagements and campaigns that will precede the 2027 election.
He expressed confidence in YAYI’s ambition and reiterated his commitment to supporting the senator’s aspiration to become the Executive Governor of Ogun State in 2027, by the grace of God.
Elewide said the return of the Ogun governorship hopeful would further strengthen preparations for the political journey ahead, stressing that supporters and stakeholders who believe in the vision must remain focused and committed.
The CCM chairman maintained that the movement would continue to mobilise support and engage with stakeholders across communities as the political season approaches.
He described YAYI as a politician with the experience, political reach and understanding required to provide purposeful leadership for Ogun State, while calling on supporters to remain united and peaceful.
“We are delighted to welcome our leader, Senator Olamilekan Adeola YAYI, back to the country. He has had some time to rest with his wife, and we are happy to have him back as we prepare for the journey ahead.”
Elewide further stated that his support for YAYI was rooted in his belief in the senator’s capacity to contribute meaningfully to the development of Ogun State.
He added that the 2027 governorship ambition would require collective efforts, discipline and sustained engagement with the people, noting that the CCM would play its role in ensuring that the aspirations of its members and supporters are properly coordinated.
The CCM chairman also urged political supporters not to be distracted by emerging political developments, but to concentrate on issues that affect the people and the future of Ogun State.
He stressed that the movement would continue to promote unity, peaceful political participation and constructive engagement as preparations for the 2027 election intensify.
As YAYI resumes his political engagements after the holiday, Elewide expressed optimism that the senator’s ambition to occupy the Ogun State Government House in 2027 would receive increasing support from the people.
He concluded by reaffirming his personal and organisational commitment to the aspiration, saying he remains hopeful that, by God's grace, Senator Olamilekan Adeola YAYI will emerge as the next Executive Governor of Ogun State in 2027.
