The Deputy Chief Whip of the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Ibrahim Isiaka Ayokunle, has reaffirmed his unwavering support for the candidacy of Hon. Motunrayo Adijat Adeleye as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency in the 2027 general election, calling on party members to unite and work collectively towards a resounding victory.
Isiaka made the declaration on Thursday during a strategic meeting with his supporters and key stakeholders under the platform of the EasyLife Movement, which was convened at his instance in Ifo to strengthen party cohesion and mobilise members ahead of the forthcoming elections.
The meeting attracted prominent APC leaders, including former Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olakunle Oluomo; Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat; Ifo APC Chairman, Barr. Olumide Oduwole; Ewekoro APC Chairman, Chief Ayinde Sogbamu; Local Government Chairmen, Idris Kushimo and Sikiru Adesina; House of Assembly candidates for Ifo I and Ewekoro, Fola Salami and Abiodun Adeleye, as well as Governor’s Liaison Officers, ward executives and other party stakeholders.
Addressing the gathering, Isiaka described party unity as a critical ingredient for APC’s success in the 2027 elections, stressing that the party’s primary elections had been concluded and that all members must now put aside differences and focus on achieving victory at the polls.
According to him, “the APC primary election had come and gone and had produced candidates for the various elective positions. There should be no grudges, bitterness or actions capable of undermining the unity of the party.”
He urged all factions and tendencies within the party to embrace reconciliation and redirect their energy towards strengthening the APC’s grassroots structures across Ifo and Ewekoro.
In a strong show of commitment to the party’s candidate, Isiaka reiterated his endorsement of Adijat Adeleye and called on his supporters to join hands with other party faithful to mobilise votes for her and all APC candidates contesting in the 2027 elections.
The lawmaker expressed confidence in APC’s growing electoral strength within the federal constituency, noting that the party had recorded steady improvement in previous election cycles. He charged party members to return to their respective wards and begin aggressive grassroots engagement, voter mobilisation and community outreach.
Earlier, Chief Derin Adebiyi explained that the meeting was organised to sustain unity among Isiaka’s supporters and the broader APC family. He emphasised that the primary election was a concluded process and should not become a source of division within the party.
Adebiyi urged members to reconcile their differences and work together towards the success of Adeleye’s candidacy, stressing that the collective interest of the party must remain above individual ambitions.
Other party leaders at the meeting, including Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, Barr. Olumide Oduwole and Chief Ayinde Sogbamu, commended Isiaka for his commitment to party unity and described the gathering as a demonstration of political maturity, loyalty and respect for party supremacy.
They maintained that the outcome of the primary election should unite rather than divide members, urging party faithful across the wards to commence comprehensive mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 polls.
In her remarks, APC candidate for Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency, Hon. Motunrayo Adijat Adeleye, praised Isiaka for convening the meeting, describing it as a reflection of the party’s commitment to unity and collective progress.
Adeleye stated that the gathering had reinforced the principle that APC remained bigger than individual interests, past disagreements or political tendencies.
She appealed to party leaders, former aspirants, women, youths, ward executives and grassroots mobilisers to embrace genuine reconciliation and make the 2027 election a collective mission.
The former commissioner assured party members of her readiness to work with all stakeholders, regardless of their roles during the primary election, noting that every member, supporter and political structure remained valuable to the party’s success.
“In the spirit of this meeting, I therefore urge all members of the party to return to their various wards with renewed commitment and unity, translating the spirit of reconciliation into massive votes for APC and a decisive victory in Ifo/Ewekoro and across our dear state,” Adeleye stated.
The meeting ended with a renewed commitment among APC leaders and members to strengthen internal cohesion, deepen grassroots mobilisation and work towards retaining the confidence of voters in Ifo and Ewekoro ahead of the 2027 general election.
