Port Harcourt, Nigeria – December 4, 2025 — In a heart-warming show of generosity and community support, children from one of the Omega Power Ministries (OPM) Free Secondary Schools, housed in the ministry’s fully sponsored free boarding facility, were taken on a special end-of-semester shopping trip today.
The outing, organized ahead of the school’s closure on December 5, 2025, was designed to give the students an opportunity to return home with essential supplies and small gifts they can share with their families as they reunite for the holidays.
According to the coordinator, His Royal Majesty King Chibuzor, the initiative was motivated by a desire to ensure that every child—regardless of background—experiences dignity, joy and a sense of belonging during the festive season.
“Because the children will be going home tomorrow, we wanted them to return to their parents and siblings with something they could proudly share,” the organizer explained. “It is our way of showing love, building confidence, and reminding them that they matter.”
OPM’s free education programme, widely regarded as one of the most impactful humanitarian initiatives in Nigeria, continues to stand out for offering not only tuition-free schooling, but also a fully funded boarding house—an uncommon achievement in the country’s educational landscape. The ministry maintains that this is possible solely through tithes, offerings, donations, the founder’s personal business earnings, and contributions from OPM Free School partners worldwide.
Parents of the students expressed joy and gratitude as news of the shopping trip reached them. Many noted that the gesture would greatly support families during the current economic climate.
As the students prepare to reunite with their families tomorrow, the initiative has been praised as yet another example of OPM’s commitment to uplifting underserved communities and transforming lives through education, compassion and practical support.
