Speaking at the official launch event, Ibigbami drew a striking comparison between the economic power of Silicon Valley in the United States and the untapped potential of Adire in Ogun State. According to him, if properly harnessed, the centuries-old textile craft could contribute over 10% to Nigeria’s GDP, while creating thousands of jobs across the nation.
“We all know Silicon Valley is known globally for ICT, and this alone earns America billions of dollars every year,” he said. “In the same way, Ogun State is known for Adire, but the opportunities around it remain largely unexplored. With strategic innovations, Adire can transform our economy.”
A Global Vision for Adire by 2030
Ibigbami reaffirmed Adire Label’s bold vision to position Adire as a global fashion brand before the year 2030. To achieve this, he highlighted the company’s plans to leverage media, technology, and entertainment, making the fabric more appealing—especially to young people.

- High-profile Adire-themed events where the textile serves as the gate pass
- Free training programs for unemployed youths on Adire production, marketing, and entrepreneurship
- The annual Adire International Fashion Week, featuring fashion shows, exhibitions, and concerts
- International celebrity involvement, with hopes of bringing icons such as Angélique Kidjo, Beyoncé, Rihanna, and Jay-Z to showcase Adire on global platforms
Ibigbami expressed confidence that such initiatives would “promote the textile industry internationally while creating opportunities for local designers, models, and creatives.”
He appreciated the role of the former Governor of Ogun state, Senator Ibikunle Amosun for promoting adire products in Nigeria and beyond.

“It is saddening that some people have lived in Abeokuta for more than five years without owning a single piece of Adire, yet their wardrobes are filled with foreign brands. This culture of capital flight must end,” he declared.
The Digital Marketplace: A Global Bridge for Adire
The newly launched digital marketplace is designed to take Adire to the world, making it easily accessible to buyers across continents. Ibigbami revealed plans to push Adire into the wardrobes of global personalities such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Barack Obama, further expanding its international appeal.
In addition, the company aims to establish a technology-driven factory capable of producing over 50,000 yards of Adire daily, ensuring consistent supply for global exports.
Adire International Fashion Week and the Experience Centre
A central pillar of the company’s mission is the upcoming Adire International Fashion Week, which will travel across major cities in Nigeria. The event aims to unite all stakeholders—dyers, weavers, batik artists, designers, and global admirers—while celebrating African heritage and encouraging youth participation.
