Egungbohun Condemns Attack By Suspected Fulani Herdsmen In Ketu Constituency 

The House Of Assembly Member Representing Ketu State Constituency in Ogun State, Hon Wahab Egungbohun Abiodun has condemned the attack of farmers by suspected Fulani herdsmen earlier today.

According to Egungbohun, "It is so sad that Ketu Constituency is bathing in the blood of constituents. I am writing this with serious agony in the land of Ketu as Fulani herders attack Owode ketu in Eggua ward and Kill not fewer than six people leaving scores seriously injured while two farmers after been matcheted were thrown into Yewa river along Eggua road from the bridge."

"This was in connection with a reprisal attack by herdsmen as they came in hundreds as result of the visitation of Sunday Igboho to the Area. Honestly we commend the effort of the Nigeria Police Force Eggua Police Division led by Mr Kalejaiye for swift response to distress call. We appreciate your unrelentless effort in combing the area but the major areas that needed more attention as at now are the suburbs of the constituency namely, Imoto, Korole, Asa, Ibeku, Agbon-ojodu, lasilo, Sangisha,Dangidagi, Igbokofin, Owode Ketu, Ijale ketu, Ipinle,Tobolo- Aworo, Ogunba Ayeitoro.

The brutal attacks on farmers by marauding herdsmen is really making me feel our people are not adequately secured. It is never a crime to be indigene of the border community."

"I am using this medium to call on the executive Governor of our dear State . His excellency Dr Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR to kindly instruct the Nigerian police commissioner in Ogun State and other security agents to move swiftly to the area so that the issue will not escalate further, this is the time we need AMOTEKUN to come out and support the Nigeria Police Force ." he Said.

Also, the movement of the fulani herders reportedly captured towards Owode Balogun, Refurefu, Aranfe, Gbokoto- Igbeme axis towards the forest reserved.

"My constituents will not sleep with all eyes closed because of herdsmen menace , the Fulani Herdsmen has arrived within my constituency with firearms and other dangerous weapons."

"Police can't go into the bush, according to the information reaching me this morning the Fulani's had bombarded all the nearest farms around Owode ketu, Aruku  Lasi, Odaniga  Komi Imoto Axis e.t.c and every school has been closed down. its disheartening to hear bad reports escalating every time on the killing of people by the Fulanis and other worsen situation affecting the Communities in my constituency." He added.

He said to further prevent the crisis from escalating, the state government was advised to strengthen security for herders and farmers, implement conflict resolution mechanisms.
