Ogun State Government is set to rebuild Sabo market razed by fire early last year in Sagamu, in fulfilment of the promise made by the Governor of the State, Prince Dapo Abiodun during his visit to the market.
Sequel to this, government has commenced work on the reconstruction of the market by clearing shanties to pave way for modernisation of structures, in order to make trading more convenient.
The Chairman, Transition Committee, Sagamu Local Government, Hon. Gbenga Banjo revealed this during the monitoring of the exercise in Sagamu, stating that traders had been given notice to vacate the shops for proper execution of the project.
Banjo appealed to the traders to bear with government as the exercise was all in their interest, saying it would further create enabling environment for economic activities.
Speaking on behalf of traders, Mrs. Adetutu Adebayo, commended the State government for coming to their aid, while another trader, Mrs. Adijat Agbomabiwon, urged government to accelerate the reconstruction and make it affordable to all.
