A soft drink is a drink that usually contains carbonated water, a sweetener, and a natural or artificial flavoring examples are Coke, Fanta, Sprite and many more.

Many of us are addicted to the soft drinks, I am also addicted but it is very dangerous to the human body, too much of everything is bad.

1. High Risk of Cancer

According to a research involving over 60,000 adults who drink two or more soda in a week were 87% more likely to develop pancreatic cancer than those that do not drink soda.

2. Weight gain

Weight gain occurs when you take in more calories than your body use. A bottle of coke contains 140 calories, drinking one bottle of coke a day for four weeks is equal to taking in 3,920 extra calories, if the calories gained are not used it would lead to weight gain.

3. No nutritional value

Soft drinks is made up of sugar mixed with colours and sweetners but it contains no nutrients.

4. Disaster to your dental health

Soft drinks consist of phosphoric acid and carbonic acid, when this acids are mixed with sugars it could cause a great amount of damage to your teeth.

5. It could lead to poor bone development

Calcium is an essential mineral for strong bones and teeth. Consuming high amounts of phosphoric acid and citric acid, which are common ingredients in soft drinks, can deplete the calcium from your bones and decrease calcium absorption and make your bones weak.
