Dr Uduak Udo-Inyang, Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Sufficiency of Akwa Ibom state was sacked on Thursday.
The Secretary to the state governor, Dr Emmanuel Ekuwem, made the announcement in a press statement, stating that the dismissal was with immediate effect.
No reason has so far been given.
According to the statement, Udo-Inyang will be replaced immediately by Professor Nse Essien,Commissioner for Science and Technology.
The state Governor thanked the former commissioner for his service to the state and wished him good luck in his future endeavors.
In a separate statement, Dr Ekuwem also announced that Governor Emmanuel has approved the suspension of chairman of the state’s Local Government Service Commission, Valentine Attach.
He explained that Attach was suspended for alleged involvement in illegal recruitment into the service.
