The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ogun West Senatorial District, is set to celebrate outstanding individuals who have made remarkable contributions to youth development, leadership, community service, empowerment and the overall advancement of Ogun West at the second edition of the prestigious Ogun West Youth Awards.
The highly anticipated award ceremony is scheduled to hold on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at the ASUP Hall, Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, Ogun State, beginning at 11:00 a.m.
According to a press release signed by the Chairman of the Ogun West Youth Awards Committee, Comrade Adeola Adeyemi, the awards were instituted by the NYCN Ogun West Senatorial District as a platform to recognise and celebrate exceptional individuals whose contributions have positively impacted young people and communities across the Senatorial District.
Among the distinguished personalities expected to be honoured at the ceremony are Senator (Aremo) Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi; Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele; Alayeluwa Oba Kehinde Olugbenle; Alhaji Ibrahim Dende; Engr. Jamiu Ogundele; Alhaji Olumide Tijani; and Comrade Abduljabar Ayelaagbe, alongside other deserving personalities.
The Council stated that the awardees are being recognised for their exceptional contributions in various areas, including youth empowerment, leadership, innovation, entrepreneurship, community development and public service.
According to the organisers, the Ogun West Youth Awards represents a deliberate commitment by the NYCN to celebrate excellence and appreciate individuals who have invested in people, created opportunities for young persons and contributed meaningfully to the growth and development of communities across Ogun West.
The awards ceremony is also expected to bring together youth leaders, community stakeholders, traditional rulers, political leaders, entrepreneurs and other prominent personalities for a celebration of service, leadership and impactful contributions to society.
The Council noted that recognising individuals who have distinguished themselves in various fields would not only encourage continued commitment to youth and community development but would also inspire a new generation of young people to embrace leadership, innovation and service to humanity.
The organisers further stressed that sustainable development in Ogun West requires collective responsibility and the continuous support of individuals and organisations committed to improving the lives of the people, particularly young persons.
NYCN Ogun West therefore called on residents of the Senatorial District and members of the general public to attend the event and join in celebrating personalities whose contributions continue to make meaningful differences in communities across Ogun West.
The second edition of the Ogun West Youth Awards is expected to further strengthen the culture of recognising excellence, service and dedication while encouraging more stakeholders to contribute towards the development, empowerment and prosperity of the Senatorial District.
The event will hold on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the ASUP Hall, Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, Ogun State.
