The Ogun State governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, has pledged to provide a bus and N50 million to the Central Coordinate Movement (CCM) ahead of the party’s 2027 election campaign.
Yayi made the pledge on Friday in Abeokuta during an engagement with members and leadership of the CCM, where he acknowledged the group’s mobilisation efforts and commitment to his governorship ambition.
The APC candidate said the support was intended to strengthen the movement’s activities and enable its members to effectively coordinate their engagements as the party prepares for the electioneering season.
He expressed appreciation to the leadership and members of CCM for their support, noting that grassroots mobilisation would remain important to the campaign as political activities intensify across Ogun State.
Yayi particularly commended the chairman of the movement, Alhaji Taiwo Elewide, popularly known as Big Champion Akile Egbaland, for his leadership and continued support for the APC campaign. Recent reports have also identified Elewide as a key grassroots figure within the Yayi campaign structure.
“I want to sincerely appreciate the Central Coordinate Movement for the support you have continued to give us. I also want to appreciate your chairman, Chief Taiwo Elewide, for his commitment and dedication,” Yayi said.
He added that the pledged bus and financial support would assist the movement in carrying out its programmes and strengthening its coordination ahead of the APC campaign.
“I will give you a bus and N50 million to support the activities of CCM. I believe this will help you in your mobilisation and other engagements as we prepare for the campaign,” he stated.
The engagement also provided an opportunity for the CCM leadership and members to reaffirm their support for Yayi and discuss the role of grassroots organisations in the forthcoming political activities.
Responding, Elewide expressed appreciation to Yayi for recognising the efforts of the movement, while assuring that CCM would continue to work with relevant stakeholders in line with its objectives.
He said the group would remain committed to mobilising its members and maintaining unity as the 2027 elections approach.
