Governor Al-Makura Begs Nasarawa Governor-elect To Give Him Extra 3 months

 - Tanko Al-Makura, has asked the governor-elect of the state, Abdullahi Sule, to allow him three more months from handover day

- Al-Makura said the extra three months from time expected time of handover will allow him take the state to the 'promised land'

- According to the governor, eight years was not enough for him to do all he wanted for the people of the state

The Nasarawa state governor, Tanko Al-Makura, has asked the governor-elect of the state, Abdullahi Sule, to allow him three more months from handover.

Al-Makura during the installation of Emirs and chiefs at the Nasarawa state ministry of local government and chieftancy affairs in Lafia said the extra three months from time expected time of handover will allow him take the state to the 'promised land'.

Al-Makura said: “Because of the good intentions I have for this state, the eight years given to me was not enough; how I wish the governor-elect would borrow me three more months."

“If not because the constitution would not permit, I would have begged the governor-elect to borrow me three months to finish something I have in mind for this state," Al-Makura said.

Daily Independent reports that the governor urged the people of Nasarawa to embrace each other irrespective of tribal and cultural differences.

He said the installation and presentation of staff of office to sixteen traditional rulers was long overdue and was delayed by the Ombatse and the farmer-herders’ crises that broke out in the state.

The application was initiated by the Hope Democratic Party (HDP) and its candidate, Ambrose Owuru.

According to the three-man panel presided by Justice J.S. Ikyegh, the application was “unmeritorious”.
