Movement Unveils Local Government Coordinators Across Ogun, Targets Wider Grassroots Engagement Ahead of Governorship Election

ABEOKUTA, OGUN STATE — Team 20,000 Votes for Yayi 2027 has announced the appointment of three political stakeholders as senatorial district chairmen and unveiled its Local Government Coordinators across Ogun State as part of efforts to strengthen its organisational structure ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

The appointments, according to the movement’s leadership, are aimed at deepening grassroots mobilisation, improving coordination among members and establishing an effective leadership network across Ogun State’s three senatorial districts and local government areas.

The newly appointed senatorial district chairmen are Comrade Odebode Moruf Opeyemi, popularly known as KAKA, for Ogun Central; Hon. (Amb.) Solomon Sunday Olarewaju, known as OSA, for Ogun West; and Hon. Gazal Olasunkanmi, popularly called GASAL, for Ogun East.

The appointments were announced in a press release jointly signed by the movement’s State Coordinator, Temitope Seweje, and Convener, Comrade Rasheed Aroboto.

The leadership described the appointments as part of a broader strategy to build a coordinated political network capable of connecting the movement’s state leadership with members and supporters at the grassroots.

The development also marks a step in the movement’s effort to consolidate its presence across the state’s political divisions as it mobilises support for Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, ahead of the 2027 Ogun State governorship election.

New Chairmen to Coordinate Senatorial Districts

Under the new arrangement, KAKA, OSA and GASAL are expected to provide leadership and coordination within their respective senatorial districts while strengthening communication between the state leadership and local government structures.

Their responsibilities will include facilitating cooperation among Local Government Coordinators, coordinating organisational activities and ensuring the effective dissemination of information and programmes across their respective areas.

The movement said the appointments were informed by the need to draw on the experience, political networks and organisational contributions of established stakeholders to develop a functional and disciplined structure.

It added that the senatorial district chairmen would play an important role in ensuring that the movement's activities and objectives are communicated effectively to members and supporters throughout Ogun State.

Local Government Coordinators Unveiled

In a further move to strengthen its grassroots presence, Team 20,000 Votes for Yayi 2027 also unveiled its Local Government Coordinators across the state.

The coordinators are expected to serve as the primary link between members at the community level and the movement's leadership, with responsibilities covering local mobilisation, communication, information sharing and the coordination of activities within their respective local government areas.

According to the leadership, establishing structures at both the senatorial and local government levels is intended to create a clear chain of communication and encourage wider participation in the movement's activities.

The arrangement is also expected to provide members with an organised platform to contribute to the movement's programmes while maintaining closer contact with their respective leaders.

The leadership urged members to maintain regular communication with their coordinators and work collectively within the established organisational framework.

Movement Emphasises Grassroots Participation

Team 20,000 Votes for Yayi 2027 said its organisational vision extends to young professionals, technocrats, entrepreneurs, students and other citizens who support Senator Adeola's anticipated governorship bid.

The movement maintained that building a broad-based network requires effective coordination, sustained engagement and cooperation among members at all levels.

It expressed confidence that the collective experience and commitment of the newly appointed chairmen and local government coordinators would contribute to developing a connected and functional structure across the state.

The leadership further encouraged members to demonstrate dedication to their assigned responsibilities and support initiatives designed to strengthen the movement's presence in their communities.

Leadership Congratulates Appointees

Congratulating KAKA, OSA and GASAL on their appointments, the movement's leadership called on members to extend their cooperation and support to the new district chairmen as they assume their responsibilities.

Seweje and Aroboto reiterated the movement's commitment to strengthening its structures and expanding its network ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

The announcement signals the movement's continued organisational preparations in support of Senator Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, as political activities gather momentum ahead of the next electoral cycle in Ogun State.

With the appointment of the three senatorial district chairmen and the unveiling of local government coordinators, Team 20,000 Votes for Yayi 2027 is seeking to establish a more coordinated grassroots framework to advance its political objectives across the state.
