The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Ogun State Chapter, has intensified its push for greater collaboration among government institutions, security agencies and other stakeholders to expand opportunities for women journalists and promote the welfare of women across the state.
The call was made during a series of familiarisation visits by the newly inaugurated Executive Council of the association, led by its Chairperson, Comrade Morenikeji Sobaloju, to the Ogun State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development and the Secretariat of the Police Officers' Wives Association (POWA) in Ogun State.
Speaking during the visits, Sobaloju emphasized that strategic partnerships are essential for advancing women's empowerment, professional development and inclusive governance. She noted that women journalists occupy a unique position in society as advocates and communicators who can amplify initiatives aimed at improving the lives of women and vulnerable groups.
