The town of Frankfort, Illinois, has been left shocked following the alleged m¥rder of a two-year-old boy by his 38-year-old mother, Corie A. Walsh, who reportedly had recently become “very invested in the Lindsay Clancy m¥rder trial,” according to court documents.
According to reports, Walsh has been charged with three counts of first-degree m¥rder. Police allegedly found her attempting to h@rm herself after discovering her two-year-old son unresponsive inside the home. The child was later pronounced de@d at an area hospital.
Court documents reportedly state that Walsh told police she “did this to her baby because he was the ‘devil’ and the ‘anti-Christ.’” The documents also indicate that she had “recently become very invested in the Lindsay Clancy m¥rder trial.”
Police had received a report concerning an “inj¥red 2-year-old child.” When officers arrived at the residence, a neighbour was performing CPR on a toddler identified as two-year-old Barrett Walsh.
The neighbour reportedly told police that she discovered the boy, who was nicknamed Bear, “hanging from a rafter in the basement.” Prosecutors said the toddler had a ligature around his neck and that his feet were off the ground. The neighbour removed the ligature and immediately began administering CPR.
An autopsy later determined that Barrett d+ed from “asphyxia due to ligature compression of the neck.”
The incident comes as the closely watched criminal proceedings against Lindsay Clancy ended in a mistrial on Friday.
According to Walsh’s court documents, she had reportedly been “actively discussing the case via group text message with her friends” before the alleged k+lling of her son.
