The leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Ogun State Joint Campus Committee (JCC), has set to commence the facility check of campus across the state.
In a statement issued by the NANS Chairman, Comrade Gabriel Abiola Francis (Solution), he expressed its profound appreciation to the Students' Union Government (SUG) Presidents of various tertiary institutions across Ogun State for their unwavering cooperation, solidarity and continuous support toward the activities and programs of NANS Ogun JCC.
He added that, this collective spirit of unity has remained a major pillar in strengthening student advocacy and promoting a cohesive student movement within the state.
According to him, NANS Ogun JCC particularly acknowledge the maturity, commitment and sense of responsibility demonstrated by the SUG Presidents in fostering harmony among students and aligning with the broader objectives of NANS.
He, also added that their readiness to collaborate and proactive engagement in student-centered initiatives have significantly contributed to the progress recorded so far.
He said, "Indeed, your support has been nothing short of topnotch and second to none as NANS Ogun State further reiterates that the cooperation received from the SUG leaderships across institutions reflects a shared vision for a better and more sustainable academic environment.
"This unity of purpose has enhanced effective communication, swift conflict resolution and a stronger collective voice for Ogun State students at both state and national levels"
While welcoming back all Ogun students back to the campus, Comrade Francis, stated that, "NANS Ogun also welcome Students back to campus and wish them all Happy resumption, as academic excellence remains the topmost priority of Students, we implore students to focus and paid rapid attention to academic, be security conscious, law abiding students and as well be a good ambassador of your alma-mata and Ogun State at large".
However, as part of the continued commitment to students' welfarism and educational development, NANS Ogun JCC, hereby informs the general students populace and relevant stakeholders of its resolve to embark on a comprehensive campus tour, facilities and campus security inspection across all tertiary institutions in Ogun State.
He added that, this exercise is aimed at obtaining first-hand information on the state of academic, residential, social facilities and security systems within our campuses.
Meanwhile, The outcome of this tour and facilities check will be carefully documented, analysed, and compiled into a comprehensive report detailing the prevailing conditions of our institutions. This report will serve as an advocacy document to be formally presented to the Ogun State Governor, with the aim of drawing attention to critical needs, infrastructural deficits and areas requiring urgent intervention.
NANS Ogun JCC assures all students, SUG Presidents and Executives, students, stakeholders and cadres that this initiative is driven purely by the interest of Ogun State students and the desire to promote quality education, safe and secured learning environments and sustainable campus development, as the Joint Campus Committee remains steadfast in its mandate to engage constructively with relevant authorities while sustaining unity within the student Community.
NANS Ogun JCC, hereby calls for the continued cooperation of SUG Presidents, entire Students community in various institutions, stakeholders and students at large as it advances this mission.
While reaffirming their collective commitment to the protection of students’ rights, the promotion of academic excellence and the overall advancement of education in Ogun State.
