Abeokuta, Ogun State – September 22, 2025: In a remarkable testament to dedication and service, the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, popularly known as the So-Safe Corps, celebrated the appointment of new leadership during an inauguration ceremony held at their State Headquarters, Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta. The event marked a significant step forward in the Corps’ mission to enhance community policing and secure the safety of residents across Ogun State.
The ceremony was presided over by the State Commander of the Corps, Dr. Soji Ganzallo, and attended by notable guests including Hon. Abdulganiyu Hamzat, the Commissioner for Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, AIG Olusola Subair (Rtd.), who emphasized the importance of the new leadership appointment to the security landscape of the state.
In his welcome address, Commander Ganzallo commended the newly appointed Deputy State Commander, DCC Moruf Kolawole Yusuf, along with Deputy Commanders, DCC Adedamola Adesina AbdulAkeem and DCC Odukoya Oluyemi Ijaoba. He underscored their previous accomplishments and dedication to their roles, stating, “This elevation is not by chance but is a reflection of hard work and commitment. Remember, with much given comes much expected.”
The event was a confluence of purpose, as Dr. Ganzallo expressed gratitude to the Ogun State Government for their continuous support, particularly in supplying the necessary equipment to aid the Corps in their duties. He reiterated that the organization’s mission was within the framework of Governor Dapo Abiodun’s commitment to ensuring the safety of all citizens.
Hon. Abdulganiyu Hamzat, represented by the Permanent Secretary Dr. Rotimiolu Akinlesi, conveyed a powerful message to the new leaders, urging them to prove their worth in their elevated positions. “You are now entrusted with greater authority,” he said, “and this comes with greater accountability. We expect you to leverage your wealth of experience for the progress of the Corps.”
AIG Olusola Subair, represented by Mr. Biyi Odubote, further highlighted the significance of the So-Safe Corps in transforming security in Ogun State. He addressed the competitive nature of promotions within the Corps, likening it to a pyramid where fewer positions are available at higher levels. He encouraged all officers to continue their commitment to safety and security, acknowledging the vital role they play in safeguarding lives and properties across the state.
As the ceremony progressed, the Hon. Commissioner officially decorated the three newly promoted officers and presented their Letters of Appointment, symbolizing their new roles within the organization.
On behalf of his fellow officers, Deputy State Commander DCC Moruf Yusuf expressed heartfelt gratitude towards Commander Ganzallo for the trust bestowed upon them and committed to upholding the highest standards of the Corps. “We will ensure that our efforts contribute positively to the safety and security of Ogun State,” he promised.
The occasion also saw the decoration of two Assistant Corps Commanders, ACC Adegunwa Adegbuyi as the new Director of Information and Public Relations, and ACC Nurudeen Muibi as the Deputy Director of Intelligence and Investigation, further strengthening the leadership framework of the Corps.
With renewed vigor and a clear mandate, the So-Safe Corps is poised to navigate the challenges of community security in Ogun State, ensuring that their dedication translates into actionable safety measures for all residents.
