The Lagos State Government has announced a postponement of the planned repair works on the Ogudu–Oworonshoki Bridge, which were expected to commence with a traffic diversion scheme.
In a statement released on Friday, the Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, said a new date for the commencement of the project will be announced later.
Although the government did not provide specific reasons for the rescheduling, it reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring public safety and minimizing disruptions during all ongoing and future infrastructure improvements.
“We sincerely appreciate your patience, understanding, and continued cooperation,” the statement read.
Once initiated, the bridge repairs are expected to enhance structural integrity and improve traffic flow on the vital link connecting major areas within Lagos Mainland.
