The chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalist in Ogun State has said Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC is not ready for the general election in 2023 today 23rd of February 2023.

Olanrewaju, said this during a press briefing in the secretariat of the council in Iwe–Irohin, he said if the INEC is ready for the election then the journalist across Nigeria would have been given working tag and stickers to move about on election day.

Upon online registration made available by the INEC, the journalists still get denied of kits to move on election day.

But this year, the journalist are left unattended to as INEC officials keeps giving the journalist flimsy excuses as at Thursday 23rd of Feebruary 2023.

Meanwhile, the national secretary of Committee for  Defense of Human Rights CDHR, Comrade Folarin Olayinka said with clear indication, INEC is not ready for this election with the fact that they are sidelining the journalist in Ogun state and others.

He maintained that if there is no planned foul game somewhere then the journalists who are going in charge of reporting news on Election Day would be denied kits for the election.

He hereby urged the national chairman of Imdependent National Electoral Commission, Professor Mahmood Yakubu  to make proper provision of the kits with immediate effect to make Nigerians to be informed about the situation of the election.

Olanrewaju urged the National Chairman, Prof Mamood Yakub to wade in the situation with immediate effect, making provision of media kits for the journalists nationwide.
