IMG_ORG_1612626029894

The Lisabi festival commemorates the celebration of the Egba hero called Lisabi. Lisabi is known as a great warrior who fought assiduously for the peaceful settlement of the Egba people during the intertribal wars around the 1930.

The Icon is celebrated every year in order to encourage more of such patriotic and heroic acts among the Egba indigenes

However, this year iconic remembrance which is meant to mark the 35th celebration of its kind in Egbaland might not be held.

An in-house person who spoke with our corespondent explained that the Governor is yet to approve the celebration due to the fast raising second face of covid 19.

"We have not received any favourable response from any quarters not even from our major sponsors" He said

I hope that the preparation will be speedy by the time it will commence, if at all it will be held.
