Abeokuta- As the date of resumption is still sketchy at the moment, Odusanya Kafayat 17 , a student of Ebenezer Grammar School, Elega who decided to venture into selling of carbonated drinks in Kuto round-about in Abeokuta South area of the state capital.
When our correspondent asked her why she decided to ventured into the business at her age, she said her parents are not financially buoyant to cater for the family and she thought it expedient to help the family and herself with the little money she gathered from the daily of N200 per day which is N6,000 per month.
" I think during this pandemic period i need not to be idle, I need to make myself available for businesses despite that I don't have enough resources to do large business, but with the little I have I believe I can still meet up with so many challenges within the family, my dad is a business owner selling planks at Lafenwa Sawmill and my mom is trader within the street, I don't want to follow the girls who always think they can sell their bodies to get whatever they want, that was why I told my younger sister ( Yusirat ) to assist me in selling the drinks at the traffic in Kuto area" said Kafayat
" I am still aiming to engage in more businesses as soon as this drink business yield positive results, I pray to Almighty God for success and guidance" Kafayat added.
When we contacted her parents during telephony interview Mr Waheed Odusanya said he is proud of Kafayat for her to have think of engaging herself in such business at her age instead of mentoring the girls who believes in selling of their bodies in exchange of money.
