Despite the stress of acquiring education in rural communities in Nigeria due to poverty, lack of basic amenities among other things, many families, knowing the importance of education are still struggling to ensure their children acquire basic education.
According to a press statement signed by
Lateef Temitope Owodunni, Dir. Of Communication, RNFLI, The school children, many of who trek several kilometres to attend schools in nearby communities sometimes get discouraged when basic school needs like tuition fees, textbooks, writing materials, school uniforms among other things are not met.
On this note that a team of oriented youth with the sole aim of reducing poverty in their little way, Rescue Nigeria’s Future Leaders Initiative stormed Igbore Community School, Obada Oko under Ewekoro local government of Ogun state with education stationery.
As part of RNFLI objectives, education support to public schools is a vital aspect in repositioning the nation to our desire taste. However, it was a moment to recon with knowing that Property World African Network (PWAN) Group were the major sponsors of the empowerment.
The team which was headed by the President, Comarde Oriyomi Daniel Oloyede presented to the school management 2000 exercise books, 5 packs of pencil, 5 packs of chalk, 1 pack of red pen for the teachers, 1 pack of mini erasers and 5 packs chalk.
The school head teacher, Mrs Babatunde expressed optimism that the gesture, which is also part of the ways to support and improve lives in the country. While explaining the need for other non government organization to support public schools, a case study of the RNFLI gesture.
The representative of the community, Mr Hassan appreciated the team of Rescue Nigeria’s future Leaders Initiative for the empowerment scheme withing their community. He pleaded that some other schools nearby needs the same empowerment and prayed that God help the team and her sponsors to do more.
The founder and president of RNFLI, Comarde Oriyomi Daniel Oloyede, assured the school management of their continuous support. He affirmed and promised to facilitate infrastructure development and teacher’s welfarism to the school. Oloyede thanked their sponsor PWAN group for their 100% support on child’s education and urge the students to use the education stationery judiciously for their success.
