Nigeria Govt Responds To Killings In Ghana

There were reported cases of clashes between Ghanaian and Nigerian merchants on Monday which brought about the capture of six while others supported wounds. 

Dabiri-Erewa in an announcement by the Commission Head of Media and Public Relations, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, said the revealed instances of assaults on Nigerian shops and merchants by Ghanaians were very disastrous. 

She depicted the ongoing assaults as uncalled for even as she offered for quiet from the two sides. 

The NIDCOM manager begged law implementation organizations in Ghana to ensure the lives and properties particularly that of Nigerians from being assaulted pending the goals of the issue.

She said :

”I hereby appeal for calm from both sides and implore the law enforcement agencies to protect the lives and properties especially that of Nigerians from being attacked pending the resolution of the matter.

“On Monday, there were reported cases of clashes between Ghanaian and Nigerian traders which resulted in the arrest of six while others sustained injuries.

“It was alleged that the fight followed the closure of shops belonging to some Nigerian traders at Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Ghana.

” We appeal to Nigerians in Ghana, especially the shop owners, not to take laws into their hands by trying to revenge but to remain calm and allow law enforcement agents to deal with the situation.”
