Indigenous tech firm unveils unified driver network for mobility, food, parcel and shopping services

ABEOKUTA, OGUN STATE — Nigeria’s mobility and delivery sector is set for increased competition as QServe Logistics & Transportation Limited, an indigenous technology company, prepares to officially launch its integrated digital platform in Ogun State on Monday, September 14, 2026.

Unlike conventional platforms that operate ride-hailing, food delivery and courier services as separate businesses, QServe says its model brings passenger transportation, food delivery, parcel delivery and shopping services together on a single platform and dispatch infrastructure.

The company says the strategy is designed to improve driver utilisation while giving customers access to multiple services without having to maintain different applications for each service.

Available through iOS, Android and the web, QServe will allow users to book passenger trips, order food from participating restaurants, send parcels and shop from participating stores and pharmacies through the same digital ecosystem.

According to QServe Co-Founder, Dr. Luqman Awoniyi, the decision to develop a unified platform was driven by the realities of operating mobility services in markets where passenger demand can fluctuate significantly throughout the day.

“We did not build a ride-hailing app and then bolt food onto it. We built one dispatch system, and food, rides and parcels all pass through the same platform because outside Lagos, the day simply does not give a driver enough passenger trips to fill it,” Awoniyi said.

He explained that under the company's model, a driver could complete a passenger trip during the morning rush, deliver a restaurant order around lunchtime and handle a parcel later in the afternoon.

“A driver who signs on at seven in the morning should not be sitting idle at eleven waiting for the evening rush,” he added.

Cars, Motorcycles and Tricycles

For passenger transportation, QServe says customers will be able to request cars, motorcycles or tricycles, depending on their preferred vehicle category and availability.

The platform will also support shared journeys for eligible car and tricycle trips, enabling passengers travelling along similar routes to share rides.

Customers will have the option of scheduling eligible trips and orders in advance.

The company said payments will be made through cash, cards or bank transfers, with cash incorporated into the platform from its inception to accommodate different payment preferences among Nigerian consumers.

Awoniyi said the company deliberately designed its payment system around local consumer behaviour, rather than relying exclusively on cashless transactions.

Safety Features and Live Tracking

Safety and journey monitoring are also central to the platform, according to the company.

QServe says every active passenger trip and delivery can be monitored through a live map. Customers can generate a temporary tracking link and share it with family members, friends or other trusted contacts.

The recipient of the link does not need to download the QServe application and can instead monitor the journey through a web browser.

According to the company, tracking links are designed to expire and can be withdrawn by the customer.

QServe further says drivers must complete verification procedures before they can accept passenger trips. These procedures include checks of driving licences, vehicle documentation and insurance.

Where required documents expire, the company says the driver's eligibility to accept passenger trips can be suspended until the relevant documentation is renewed and verified.

Both customer and driver applications are also equipped with an SOS function, which the company says is linked to the user's live location and stored emergency contacts.

Customers will be able to rate drivers after completed jobs, while significant deviations from an expected route may generate alerts for review by QServe's operations team.

“The same thinking we applied to payments applies to safety. Every trip and delivery sits on a live map, and a customer can send a link to a relative who does not have the app and let them follow the journey in a browser. That link expires and can be withdrawn,” Awoniyi said.

One Platform, Multiple Users

QServe says its ecosystem has been structured around three principal categories of users — customers, merchants and drivers.

Restaurants and participating shops will manage menus, products and incoming orders through a dedicated merchant application featuring a live order queue.

Drivers, meanwhile, will use a separate application through which they can receive job assignments, access navigation, monitor earnings, manage referrals and communicate with support.

Although the applications are tailored to the different needs of customers, merchants and drivers, the company says they operate on the same underlying technology and dispatch infrastructure.

The model, according to QServe, is intended to reduce duplication while making it easier for merchants to participate in delivery services without having to establish and manage their own fleet of dispatch riders.

Why Ogun State?

QServe has selected Ogun State as its launch market, describing the state as the first stage of a broader expansion strategy.

Co-Founder Saheed Awoniyi said the company intends to use its experience in Ogun to refine its operational model before entering other Nigerian markets.

“A merchant in one town and a merchant in another are running the same business with different roads around them. What changes between the two is the routing and the addresses, not the product,” he said.

“We built something we could take into a new state by signing up drivers and merchants rather than starting again. Ogun State is where we prove it works, and what we learn here is what we carry into the next state.”

The company said its immediate priority after the September 14 launch would be to establish a strong network of drivers, merchants and customers across Ogun State.

It also plans to use operational data and feedback from users to improve the service before expanding into additional markets.

Testing a Different Business Model

For QServe, the decision to launch first in Ogun rather than simultaneously entering several major Nigerian cities is deliberate.

The company believes combining several categories of demand — passenger transportation, food, parcels and shopping — could potentially provide drivers with more consistent opportunities throughout the working day.

The approach is particularly targeted at markets where demand for any single service may not be sufficient to keep drivers consistently active outside peak periods.

The company's proposed model therefore places significant emphasis on driver productivity, merchant participation and a diversified stream of delivery and transportation jobs.

However, the success of the model will ultimately depend on factors including customer adoption, driver availability, merchant participation, pricing, service reliability, safety compliance and the company's ability to maintain efficient dispatch operations as demand grows.

Indigenous Technology Company

QServe Logistics & Transportation Limited was founded by Dr. Luqman Awoniyi and Saheed Awoniyi.

The company describes itself as an indigenous Nigerian technology firm focused on building an integrated digital platform for passenger transportation, food delivery, parcel delivery and shopping services.

Its QServe platform is scheduled to officially launch in Ogun State on Monday, September 14, 2026.

The company says residents will be able to access its services from launch day through its iOS and Android applications and web platform, while restaurants, shops and prospective drivers will also be able to register through the platform.

With the Ogun launch, QServe is betting that one integrated ecosystem can offer a practical alternative to fragmented mobility and delivery services — while giving drivers more opportunities to remain productive throughout the day and giving customers a single digital gateway for everyday transportation and delivery needs.
