The Ogun State Park Management Services Limited (PAM) has rejected a purported notification announcing Akogun Rafiu Oduyiga, popularly known as Bintinlaye, as Acting State Chairman of the organisation, describing the move as false, misleading and illegal.
In a statement dated September 26, 2026 and signed by the PAM Secretary, Mr. Olaniyi Sunday, on behalf of the State Executive Council, the organisation declared that Alhaji Olamilekan Balogun, popularly known as Simple, remains the chairman recognised by its State Executive Council.
The leadership said the purported notification claiming that branch chairmen had adopted Oduyiga as Acting Chairman should be disregarded by members of the public, government agencies and security authorities.
According to the statement, the State Executive Council, led by the Deputy State Chairman, Alhaji Jamiu Balogun, held its official monthly meeting where members unanimously adopted and endorsed Alhaji Olamilekan Balogun as the new State Chairman to oversee the union's activities.
The PAM leadership said the decision was reached in the presence of zonal and branch leaders, adding that a vote of confidence was also passed in support of Balogun.
The organisation further argued that branch chairmen lacked the constitutional authority to appoint or endorse a State Chairman or Acting Chairman.
“According to the constitution and structure of PAM, Branch Chairmen are not empowered to sit and appoint or endorse a State Chairman or Acting Chairman. Such power lies solely with the State Executive Council,” the statement said.
It consequently described the reported meeting of September 25, 2026, at which Oduyiga was allegedly adopted as Acting Chairman, as “null, void and of no effect.”
The State Executive Council accused unnamed individuals of attempting to create confusion and division within the organisation, describing the purported notification as an effort by “disgruntled elements” to cause a crisis in the union.
The leadership appealed to members of the public and stakeholders in the transport sector to disregard the notification and maintain peace across parks and garages in the state.
It also directed parks and garages across the 20 local government areas of Ogun State to remain calm, law-abiding and loyal to the leadership of Balogun.
The statement warned that anyone parading himself as Acting Chairman other than Balogun should be regarded as an impostor and reported to the appropriate security agencies.
Reaffirming its position, the PAM State Executive Council said the organisation remained “one united family” under the leadership of Alhaji Olamilekan Balogun, while expressing its commitment to supporting the transport development agenda of the Ogun State Government.
The latest development comes amid an apparent leadership dispute within the park management organisation, with competing claims over who has the authority to lead its state structure.
The PAM leadership, however, maintained that its position was based on the decision of the State Executive Council and urged government agencies, security operatives, drivers and park managers to recognise and deal with Alhaji Olamilekan Balogun as the organisation's State Chairman.
