
Niger State Governor Mohammed Bago has appointed six commissioners-designate and four aides as part of efforts to strengthen governance and broaden representation across the state.
The Secretary to the Government of Niger State, Abubakar Usman, announced the appointments in a statement issued on Tuesday.
The commissioners-designate, whose appointments are subject to confirmation by the State House of Assembly, are:
Hon. Lucky Barau (Gurara Local Government Area)
Hon. Isah Wakili (Bosso Local Government Area)
Dr Isah Adamu (Kontagora Local Government Area)
Hon. Emmanuel Alamu (Magama Local Government Area)
Hon. Shuaibu Saidu Kaboji (Mashegu Local Government Area)
Mohammed Danladi Garba (Borgu Local Government Area)
Governor Bago also named Alhaji Nma Kolo as Chief Political Adviser. Yahaya Emilugi, Yusuf Tagwai and Salman Yusuf were appointed Special Advisers on Political Matters for Zones A, B and C respectively.
According to the statement, the appointments form part of the administration’s drive to improve service delivery and ensure wider representation in the state.
The commissioners-designate are expected to appear before the House of Assembly for screening and confirmation in line with the law.
