The Deputy Minority Whip of the House of Representatives and member representing Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency of Ogun State, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Ibrahim Ayokunle Isiaka, has rolled out a comprehensive medical outreach programme for residents across communities in Ifo Local Government Area, reaffirming his commitment to improving access to quality healthcare and ensuring that his constituents live healthier and more productive lives.

The initiative, which is designed to bring essential medical services closer to the people, is part of the lawmaker’s continued efforts to complement government healthcare interventions and address some of the challenges confronting vulnerable members of his constituency.

The medical outreach provides an opportunity for residents, particularly those who may face financial or logistical barriers to accessing healthcare facilities, to receive medical attention, basic health checks, professional consultations and other relevant healthcare services.

Speaking on the initiative, Isiaka emphasised the importance of preventive healthcare, noting that regular medical examinations and early detection of illnesses could significantly reduce the burden of disease and improve the quality of life of individuals and families.

According to him, representation goes beyond legislative duties at the National Assembly, stressing that elected representatives must remain connected to the everyday needs and challenges of the people they represent.

He explained that the outreach was conceived as part of his commitment to ensuring that the welfare of constituents remains a major priority, especially in an era when the rising cost of healthcare continues to place pressure on many households.

The lawmaker further reiterated his determination to use his position to facilitate interventions that have direct and measurable impact on the lives of residents within the Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency.

Residents and community stakeholders who participated in the exercise expressed appreciation to the lawmaker for bringing healthcare services closer to the people.

They described the outreach as timely, particularly for low-income families, elderly residents and other vulnerable groups who often struggle to meet healthcare expenses.

Some beneficiaries also called for the sustenance and expansion of the programme to enable more residents across the constituency to benefit from similar interventions.

The outreach is expected to further strengthen the relationship between the legislator and his constituents while complementing existing healthcare services in Ifo Local Government.

Beyond the medical intervention, Isiaka has consistently maintained that effective representation should translate into tangible benefits for the people, through initiatives covering healthcare, education, infrastructure, youth empowerment and other areas of community development.

The medical outreach therefore represents another dimension of the lawmaker’s constituency engagement, with its central focus on preventive care, early medical intervention and improved access to basic healthcare.

As the programme continues across participating communities, residents are expected to take advantage of the opportunity to undergo medical checks and seek professional medical advice where necessary.

For constituents of Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency, the initiative is being viewed as a practical demonstration of Isiaka’s stated commitment to making the wellbeing of the people a central component of his representation.
