The Forum of Female Vice Chairmen in Ogun State has demonstrated renewed solidarity with the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency, Hon. Motunrayo Adijat Adeleye, with the donation of campaign souvenirs ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The gesture, which was described as a show of confidence and political support, was made by female vice chairmen from Ifo, Ewekoro and Ipokia Local Government Areas during a presentation to Hon. Adeleye.
Those who presented the souvenirs were Hon. Bolanle Ojo, Vice Chairman of Ifo Local Government; Alhaja Aliu Abisola, Vice Chairman of Ewekoro Local Government; and Hon. Olufunmilayo Okewole, Vice Chairman of Ipokia Local Government.
According to the forum, the donation was not only a political gesture but also a reaffirmation of their belief in Adeleye’s experience, leadership capacity and commitment to effective representation. They added that the initiative was aimed at promoting greater participation, visibility and unity among women in politics.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Alhaja Aliu Abisola described the presentation as “a modest expression of support and identification” with Hon. Adeleye’s candidature.
She stressed the importance of women supporting one another in leadership and governance, noting that the success of one woman in politics creates opportunities for others to participate and thrive.
“Women in leadership must continue to support and encourage one another because the success of one woman in politics creates greater possibilities for others,” she said.
Abisola added that the forum would continue to champion unity, solidarity and collective participation among women across Ogun State, regardless of political or geographical differences.
Responding to the gesture, Hon. Motunrayo Adijat Adeleye expressed appreciation to the female vice chairmen for what she described as a meaningful demonstration of sisterhood and political solidarity.
She noted that the value of the donation went beyond the souvenirs presented, describing it as a symbol of confidence, encouragement and a collective desire by women to play a stronger role in governance.
“This gesture goes beyond the souvenirs presented to me. It represents confidence, encouragement and a strong message that women are willing to stand together, support one another and create space for more women to contribute meaningfully to governance,” Adeleye said.
The former Ogun State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development and former Commissioner for Culture and Tourism further commended the forum for its consistent support and identification with her political journey.
She maintained that when women support women, the impact extends beyond individual ambitions, strengthening the collective voice of women and advancing the course of inclusive leadership.
“When women support women, we are not just supporting an individual; we are strengthening the collective voice of women and advancing the cause of inclusive leadership,” she remarked.
Adeleye also called for increased unity among women across political divides, insisting that women’s participation in politics must move beyond symbolic representation to active involvement in decision-making processes.
She argued that women possess the capacity, experience and leadership qualities required to contribute significantly to governance and national development.
The latest show of support adds to the growing political activities surrounding the 2027 elections, as stakeholders continue to mobilise support and strengthen grassroots engagement across Ogun State.
