The political machinery of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State has received fresh momentum as former Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Tunji Egbetokun, and the Executive Chairman of Obafemi Owode Local Government, Amb. Adesina ‘Lanre Ogunsola, intensified mobilisation strategies ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The duo gave the charge during a strategic meeting with party leaders, ward executives, youth leaders and supporters of the APC in Ajebo Ward, Obafemi Owode Local Government Area, where they emphasised unity, commitment and grassroots mobilisation as key factors for the party’s success at the polls.
Addressing party members at the APC Secretariat in Ajebo Ward, Rt. Hon. Egbetokun urged members to strengthen internal cohesion and remain committed to building a formidable structure capable of delivering victory for the party in the forthcoming elections.
He called on party stakeholders to close ranks, improve grassroots engagement and work collectively towards consolidating the achievements of the APC across all levels of government.
The former Speaker also engaged youth leaders in the ward, charging them to intensify mobilisation efforts and ensure that young members remain actively involved in strengthening the party’s political base.
Rt. Hon. Egbetokun expressed confidence in the continued support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and the APC governorship candidate, Senator Solomon Adeola-Yayi, urging members to remain committed to the party’s vision ahead of the 2027 elections.
He noted that the APC was fully prepared to secure victory in the Senate, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly elections, while assuring party members that a united and organised structure would guarantee success.
The meeting also witnessed the formal reception of defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) into the APC. Rt. Hon. Egbetokun welcomed the new members, assuring them of equal opportunities, fair treatment and proper integration into the party structure.
Similarly, Amb. Adesina ‘Lanre Ogunsola, FCPA, charged APC members to remain loyal, disciplined and focused as the party continues preparations for the 2027 general elections.
The council chairman stressed the importance of effective grassroots communication, sustained engagement with constituents and collective responsibility in strengthening the APC’s political structure across Ajebo Ward and Obafemi Owode Local Government.
Amb. Ogunsola commended party stakeholders for their efforts in uniting various political groups within the ward, describing their commitment as a strong foundation for future electoral success.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to prioritising the interests of residents through equitable distribution of projects across wards and continuous support for party members.
Also speaking at the meeting, former Local Government Chairman, Hon. Mustapha Fatai Eruobodo, called for increased mobilisation and support for APC candidates across all elective positions, including the senatorial, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly contests.
He urged members to remain steadfast and work together towards achieving a decisive victory for the party in 2027.
The meeting ended with renewed commitment from party leaders, youth groups and supporters in Ajebo Ward to strengthen unity, expand mobilisation networks and maintain the APC’s dominance ahead of the general elections.
