Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has called on the Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Disu, and the Department of State Services (DSS) to arrest Senator Francis Fadahunsi for allegedly “inciting genocide against the people of Ijesha land” ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.

Adeleke was reacting to a viral video in which Fadahunsi was allegedly captured telling his supporters to kill members of the Accord Party.

Addressing journalists, the governor said the senator called for the killing of Accord Party leaders, supporters and their families, and even threatened that where the leaders could not be found, their wives and children should be killed.

“This is now beyond politics. This is now a national security threat that requires the attention of Mr President through the Office of the National Security Adviser,” Adeleke stated.

He added that he had raised the matter with the IGP, who confirmed the video and assured him of immediate action.

The governor demanded that the police and DSS immediately arrest Fadahunsi over the alleged incitement to prove that Nigeria is governed by the rule of law.

He also called for an end to what he described as illegal operations by the Intelligence Response Team targeting Accord Party leaders.
