ILE IFE CANNOT AFFORD TO BE LEFT OUT —Hon. Rotimi Makinde

We are blessed as a community with rich history, rich stool, and arable land.

We are in the comity of great ancient towns like Egypt, Jerusalem and Saudi Arabia.

Ile Ife is the source. We are the root of Yoruba civilization. From us, culture, wisdom and leadership spread across the world.

Yet with all this greatness, we are not leading in political calculation.

And that must change now.

We need to get it right and stop to allow other cities to outsmart us.

Ile Ife cannot afford to be left out.

We cannot afford to be left out of development that turns our arable land into wealth for our farmers.

We cannot afford to be left out of decisions that protect our rich stool and our heritage.

We cannot afford to be left out of opportunities for our youths, our women, our artisans and our traders.

We cannot afford to be left out of projects that will bring jobs, modern markets, good roads, and a World Class Museum worthy of our history.

My people, let us be guided.

All major towns across Osun are already on their way to ensure victory for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s party, and to vote in Bola Oyebamiji.

This is the path to the center. This is where alignment, access, and federal projects will come from.

Aligning with the Federal Government has tremendous advantages.

It is through that alignment that Ile Ife can attract federal institutions, agricultural investments, tourism projects, and jobs for our people.

It is through that alignment that the voice of the source will be heard in Abuja.

It is through that alignment that we will take our place among the great ancient cities — not just in history, but in development.

Philosophy teaches us: _He who sits at the center shapes the dance. He who stands at the edge only watches._

This is my counsel to all sons and daughters of Ile Ife:

Let us unite. Let us think strategically. Let us position Ile Ife where it belongs —at the center.

We are not begging. We are blessed. We are the source.

Let’s get it right now.
