NSCDC Arrests Three Over Alleged Vandalism of 250 NNPC Pipes in Adamawa

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Adamawa State has arrested three suspects for allegedly transporting vandalised pipelines belonging to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited.


Public Relations Officer Amidu Nyako Baba said in a statement that the suspects were intercepted by the Commandant’s Special Squad at Jereng, Mayo-Belwa LGA, following credible intelligence.

They were found conveying 250 metal pipes, each measuring 8–10 feet, concealed in bags of cassava to disguise their true nature. 


Preliminary investigations revealed the consignment was loaded in Namnai, Gassol LGA of Taraba State and was being transported to Kano.


The principal suspect, Adamu Lawan, remains at large, but efforts are ongoing to apprehend him. 


The three arrested individuals are currently in custody and undergoing investigation for possible prosecution.


Officials said the operation underscores NSCDC’s commitment to protecting critical national assets and preventing acts of vandalism that threaten Nigeria’s energy infrastructure.
