Sagamu Sets New Governance Standard as Chairman Commissions New Office, Secretariat Facelift

SAGAMU, Ogun State – In a significant demonstration of his administration's commitment to good governance, transparency, and infrastructural development, the Executive Chairman of Sagamu Local Government officially commissioned the newly constructed Executive Chairman's Office alongside the facelift of the Local Government Secretariat amid pomp and ceremony.

The commissioning ceremony attracted an array of distinguished personalities, including traditional rulers, political leaders, party faithful, members of the Legislative Council, management and staff of the Local Government, community leaders, youth and women groups, as well as other stakeholders from across the council area.

Speaking during the event, the Chairman described the commissioning as another major milestone in the administration's drive to reposition Sagamu Local Government for effective service delivery and sustainable development.













He stated that the construction of the modern Executive Chairman's Office and the comprehensive renovation of the Local Government Secretariat were designed to provide a functional, efficient, and conducive working environment for public servants, stressing that improved workplace conditions would ultimately translate into better service delivery for residents.

According to him, "A modern and well-maintained workplace reflects discipline, accountability, and the seriousness of government. When our workforce operates in a dignified environment, they are better motivated to serve the people with excellence."

The Chairman disclosed that the projects were executed entirely with the Local Government's internally generated revenue (IGR), describing the achievement as a practical demonstration that public funds can be managed prudently, transparently, and responsibly for the benefit of the people.

He noted that the successful completion of the projects underscores his administration's unwavering commitment to accountability, fiscal discipline, and sustainable grassroots development.

"Our administration has demonstrated that taxpayers' money can be judiciously utilized to deliver impactful projects that directly benefit our people. Today, we have raised the bar, set a new standard for responsible governance, and reaffirmed our guiding principle: SAGAMU FIRST," he declared.

The Chairman expressed profound appreciation to the Executive Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, for his unwavering support and confidence in the vision of the administration, noting that the Governor's commitment to grassroots development continues to inspire local government councils across the state.

He also paid glowing tribute to the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, and other traditional rulers in Sagamu for their consistent support, wise counsel, and dedication to the peace and development of the local government.

The Chairman further acknowledged the invaluable contributions of party leaders, members of the Legislative Council, the management and staff of the Local Government, contractors, and all stakeholders whose collective efforts ensured the successful execution of the projects.

Reaffirming his administration's resolve to sustain the momentum of development, he assured residents that more people-oriented projects would be initiated and completed to improve infrastructure, strengthen governance, and enhance the quality of life across all communities in Sagamu Local Government.
