ABEOKUTA, Ogun State — A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State and Commissioner II of the Ogun State House of Assembly Service Commission, Alhaji Fasiu Olaniyi Ajadi, has empowered more than 150 party faithful with ₦10,000 each in Abeokuta South Local Government Area.
The empowerment programme, held on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, took place at the APC Ward 6 weekly meeting in Abeokuta South, where party members received the financial assistance as part of efforts to support them amid prevailing economic challenges.
The beneficiaries comprised women, men and youths, particularly party members who were considered to be in need of immediate financial assistance for feeding and other personal needs.
Speaking on the selection process, Ajadi explained that the beneficiaries were selected randomly, while also taking into consideration their commitment and participation in the activities of the party.
He said the initiative was intended to provide timely support to party members and assist them in meeting some of their immediate financial obligations.
The empowerment was carried out in the presence of the APC Ward 6 executives, led by the ward chairman, Mr. Lawal, alongside other party leaders and members who attended the weekly meeting.
Some of the beneficiaries expressed appreciation to Ajadi for extending the gesture to them at a difficult period.
Two beneficiaries who spoke with our correspondent, Alao Muyideen and Adija Sorunke, separately thanked the APC chieftain for remembering party members through the empowerment programme.
They described the financial support as timely, noting that the ₦10,000 assistance would help them meet some of their immediate needs.
The beneficiaries also prayed for continued blessings and success for Ajadi, while appreciating his efforts to support members of the party at the grassroots.
The gesture further underscored the importance of grassroots engagement and direct support for party members, particularly at the ward level, where political activities are sustained through regular meetings and participation.
