G¥nmen Abd¥ct Two Farmers in Ondo, Demand ₦10m Ransom

Two farmers have been abd¥cted by suspected g¥nmen along the Oke-Ifira/Idogun forest axis in Akoko South-East Local Government Area of Ondo State.

A relative of the victims said the farmers were kidn@pped on Saturday while working in the area. The incident has since been reported to the Ondo State Police Command and the Ondo State Security Network Agency, codenamed Amotekun.

According to the family member, the abd¥ctors have demanded a ransom of ₦10 million for the victims’ release.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, said the police received a report that the victims were missing but had yet to verify the alleged ransom demand.

He disclosed that a joint security team comprising the police, Nigerian Army, Amotekun Corps, local hunters, Agbekoya operatives, and community volunteers has been deployed to the forest to intensify search and rescue efforts.

Jimoh added that the command has mobilised operational and intelligence resources to locate the victims and apprehend those behind the abduction. He also urged residents with credible information that could assist the operation to report it to the appropriate security agencies.
