ABEOKUTA – The member representing Ikenne, Sagamu and Remo North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Dr. Princess Adesola Ayoola-Elegbeji, has highlighted a series of legislative initiatives, constituency projects and empowerment programmes undertaken since assuming office, describing them as part of a deliberate effort to accelerate development and improve the quality of life of residents across Remo.
According to a statement issued by her Media Office, the federal lawmaker has remained focused on delivering people-oriented representation through legislative advocacy, infrastructure development, education, healthcare and economic empowerment.
The statement noted that since her inauguration on October 25, 2025, Ayoola-Elegbeji has combined lawmaking with constituency interventions aimed at addressing critical developmental challenges facing communities in Ikenne, Sagamu and Remo North Local Government Areas.
On the legislative front, the lawmaker is said to have sponsored several bills designed to expand educational opportunities and strengthen governance. Among them are bills seeking the establishment of a School of Nursing and Allied Professionals in Ode Remo/Emuren, the upgrading of the Federal College of Agricultural Sciences in Orile-Oko, the creation of five additional local government areas within the constituency, and the proposed creation of Ijebu-Remo State.
Beyond sponsoring bills, she has also moved motions calling for urgent government intervention on pressing issues affecting the constituency. These include the rehabilitation of the deteriorating Ibere River Bridge in Emuren Town, immediate action to address the lead poisoning crisis in Ogijo, and the construction of pedestrian bridges along the ongoing Sagamu-Benin Expressway to improve public safety.
The statement further highlighted the lawmaker's commitment to education and youth development through targeted human capital investment programmes. It disclosed that the top three participants in a Tech Upskill Training programme were awarded 12-month ALTSchool scholarships to pursue digital skills education, while 1,000 secondary school students benefited from free WAEC tutorial classes, with grants provided to outstanding performers.
As part of efforts to promote economic growth and social inclusion, Ayoola-Elegbeji also facilitated empowerment programmes for 500 farmers as well as 1,000 women and youths across the constituency.
In the area of infrastructure, the statement listed several projects either completed, ongoing or proposed. These include the installation of solar-powered streetlights across Ikenne Local Government, the construction of Ewuoliwo Road, intervention works on Sonyindo Street, rehabilitation of primary healthcare centres in Ibelefun and Ogijo, and the provision of a solar power grid at Iperu General Hospital.
Other interventions include the development of High Court Road (Oko-Ada Road), rural electrification projects in Orile-Oko, distribution of electricity transformers across communities in Ikenne, Sagamu and Remo North, installation of additional solar streetlights, construction of a modern abattoir in Sagamu, and the establishment of a 105-panel, 120kVA solar mini-grid power system at the Muhammadu Buhari Mother and Child Hospital in Iperu-Remo.
To address persistent erosion challenges in parts of the constituency, the statement added that the lawmaker personally funded strategic engineering surveys through the Ecological Fund Office, paving the way for intervention projects in Araromi Sagamu, Likosi and the Government Reserved Area (GRA).
According to the Media Office, these interventions reflect a governance philosophy anchored on responsive leadership, strategic planning and sustained engagement with constituents.
It maintained that the initiatives represent a comprehensive approach to development, combining legislative advocacy with practical projects that directly impact the lives of the people.
The statement added that Ayoola-Elegbeji remains committed to consolidating the gains recorded so far by expanding opportunities, attracting more federal interventions and ensuring that every community within the Ikenne, Sagamu and Remo North Federal Constituency continues to benefit from effective and accountable representation.
The lawmaker's media office reaffirmed that the constituency remains focused on pursuing inclusive growth and sustainable development through collaborative leadership and people-centred governance.
