ABEOKUTA – The Central Coordinate Movement (CCM), a prominent grassroots political organization in Ogun State, has declared its readiness to mobilize support for Senator Adeola Olamilekan Solomon YAYI ahead of the 2027 general elections, pledging to secure victories across wards, local government areas, and senatorial districts.
The commitment was made during a strategic meeting held in Abeokuta on Wednesday, where leaders and members of the movement received a high-powered delegation from the camp of Senator YAYI.
The delegation was led by the Osi of Egbaland, High Chief Akeem Bode Mustapha, and included notable political figures such as Hon. Babatunde Olaotan (HBO), Alhaji Fasiu Olaniyi Ajadi, Comrade Ifekayode Akinbode, Hon. Afolabi Afuape, Hon. Atobatele, Hon. Ayo Shomide and other key stakeholders within the political structure supporting the senator.
Speaking at the gathering, the visitors charged members of the Central Coordinate Movement to remain steadfast and committed to grassroots mobilization, emphasizing the need to strengthen the political base ahead of the 2027 electoral contest.
Hon. Babatunde Olaotan described CCM as one of the most organized and disciplined political groups in Ogun State, commending its leadership and members for their unity and maturity.
“Central Coordinate Movement is one of the most coordinated groups in Ogun State. They are uniform, mature and educated. I believe they stand out among many political groups because of their organization and commitment,” he said.
Also addressing the gathering, Hon. Afolabi Afuape stressed the importance of building a formidable grassroots structure capable of delivering electoral victories for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“We are looking toward a new direction for the 2027 election because those entrusted with the responsibility in the last election failed to secure victory for the APC in Abeokuta South. We believe in your strength and capacity. Work towards winning your wards and securing votes in the next election,” Afuape stated.
Comrade Ifekayode Akinbode praised the contributions of CCM Chairman, Alhaji Taiwo Elewide, popularly known as Big Champion Akile Egbaland, noting that his years of dedication to the political cause deserve recognition.
“Taiwo Elewide has been working tirelessly for us over the years, and the time has come for him and members of his group to be rewarded. I urge you all to support Senator Adeola Olamilekan Solomon YAYI, canvass for his election in 2027 and remain committed to the cause,” he said.
Hon. Atobatele also reaffirmed his support for the movement, recalling his first interaction with the leadership of CCM and expressing confidence in the group's ability to contribute meaningfully to the political aspirations of Senator YAYI.
“I have been supporting this group since the day I welcomed the chairman, Alhaji Taiwo Elewide, and his executives to my residence. From that encounter, I saw their strength, commitment and readiness to work with Senator YAYI ahead of 2027. I have supported the group and will continue to do so,” he said.
In his response, CCM Chairman Alhaji Taiwo Elewide expressed appreciation to the visiting delegation for identifying with the movement and recognizing its contributions to grassroots political development in Ogun State.
He assured the leaders of the group's unwavering commitment to the success of Senator YAYI and the APC, pledging that members would intensify mobilization efforts across communities, wards and local government areas to ensure victory in future elections.
The meeting, which attracted party faithful, youth leaders and community mobilizers, is being viewed by political observers as another significant step in the growing grassroots consolidation around Senator YAYI's anticipated political ambitions ahead of the 2027 elections.
The event concluded with renewed calls for unity, strategic engagement and sustained grassroots participation as preparations gradually gather momentum for the next electoral cycle in Ogun State.
