The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship Candidate in Ekiti State, Dr. Oluwole Oluyede, has extended warm felicitations to workers across the state on the occasion of this year’s Workers’ Day, commending their resilience, dedication, and invaluable contributions to the development of Ekiti State.
In a statement signed by his Media Aide, Gani Salau, and made available to journalists in Ado-Ekiti, Dr. Oluyede described Ekiti workers as the backbone of the state’s progress, noting that their commitment to duty remains instrumental to the sustenance of governance and economic growth.
He acknowledged the sacrifices made by workers in both the public and private sectors, particularly in the face of prevailing economic realities, stressing that their perseverance and sense of responsibility continue to keep the state functioning.
Dr. Oluyede, however, called on the government to place greater priority on workers’ welfare by ensuring the prompt payment of salaries, pensions, and gratuities, while also creating a conducive working environment that guarantees dignity, productivity, and career growth.
He further urged workers to remain steadfast, patriotic, and committed to excellence in their respective duties, assuring them that their labour and sacrifices will be rewarded under a responsive and people-oriented leadership.
Dr. Oluyede also used the occasion to solicit the support and votes of Ekiti workers in the forthcoming June 20 governorship election, promising a new era of inclusive governance that prioritizes workers’ welfare, economic stability, and sustainable development across the state.
The governorship hopeful reaffirmed his unwavering solidarity with Ekiti workers and pledged his continued advocacy for policies and reforms that will uplift their standard of living and secure a more prosperous future for all.
