The Managing Director of the Ogun State Waste Management Authority (OGWAMA), Alhaji Farouk Akintunde, has congratulated Hon. Henry Adetunji Fagbenro, popularly known as AGBOMOLA, on his re-election as Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abeokuta South Local Government.
Fagbenro was returned as chairman alongside other executive members following the successful conduct of the party’s Local Government Congress held on Saturday, February 21, 2026. The exercise, which drew party leaders, delegates, and stakeholders from across Abeokuta South, was described as peaceful and well coordinated.
In a congratulatory message issued shortly after the congress, Alhaji Akintunde commended party members for their unity and commitment to democratic principles, noting that the outcome of the exercise reflected the collective will of the grassroots.
He described Fagbenro’s re-election as a testament to his leadership capacity, dedication, and consistent efforts at strengthening the party’s base in Abeokuta South.
“Your re-election is a clear endorsement of your performance and the trust the party faithful have in your leadership,” Akintunde said. “I am confident that this renewed mandate will further consolidate the achievements recorded during your previous tenure.”
The OGWAMA Managing Director also extended his congratulations to other executives who emerged from the congress, urging them to justify the confidence reposed in them by members of the party.
He charged the newly elected officials to remain committed to transparency, inclusiveness, and accountability in managing party affairs at the local government level. According to him, effective grassroots leadership remains crucial to the continued growth and electoral success of the APC.
Akintunde emphasized the importance of unity among party members, calling on all stakeholders to rally round the new executives to ensure stability and sustained progress within the party structure.
“The strength of our great party lies in our ability to work together with a shared vision. I urge all members to support the new leadership and remain focused on advancing the ideals of the APC in Abeokuta South,” he added.
Political observers believe that the smooth conduct of the congress and the reaffirmation of Fagbenro’s leadership signal internal cohesion within the party in Abeokuta South, positioning it for greater mobilization and strategic planning ahead of future political activities.
With the new executive team now inaugurated, expectations are high that the APC in Abeokuta South will continue to deepen grassroots engagement and strengthen its foothold across the local government.
