
A major fire has engulfed the Bono Energy Terminal in the Coconut area of Apapa, Lagos, with firefighters currently battling to contain the blaze.
The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service (LSFRS) confirmed the incident on Friday. Spokesperson Shakiru Amodu said in a statement that personnel are on ground curbing the fire explosion at the facility.
“The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service is currently curbing a Fire explosion at Bono Energy Terminal on Apapa-Oworonshoki Expressway, by Coconut, Olodi Apapa, Lagos. Update to follow,” Amodu stated.
As of the time of this report, the cause of the fire remains unknown, and no details have been released on the extent of damage or possible injuries.Further updates are expected from the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service as operations continue at the fuel terminal.
