The ASADE Royal Family Arcade Ground came alive in splendour and cultural elegance on Saturday as the 5th Annual ASADE Royal Day Celebration was held in grand style, drawing sons and daughters of the revered ASADE Royal Dynasty from across Nigeria and beyond.
The colourful event was a remarkable convergence of royalty, culture, faith, and family unity, as members of the ASADE dynasty from Ilaro, Ijoga Orile, Ikeja, Iba, Ogba, and several other locations gathered alongside community leaders, friends, and well-wishers. True to the popular saying that wherever the name ASADE is mentioned, royalty is present, the occasion radiated dignity, organisation, and deep-rooted family bonding.
The celebration featured rich cultural displays that highlighted the depth and beauty of Yoruba heritage. Traditional performances by Ajan Gbode, Igbe, Bolojo, and Iyawole Adekanbi thrilled guests and kept the atmosphere vibrant throughout the programme, reinforcing the family’s commitment to preserving indigenous culture.
A major highlight of the day was the stirring rendition of the ASADE Royal Dynasty Anthem and the Ipokia Anthem, both delivered with pride and a strong sense of belonging by family members and guests, further strengthening the emotional and historical significance of the gathering.
Spiritual reflection also played a central role in the celebration. A soulful Qur’an recitation, beautifully delivered by one of the princes and princesses of the royal family, offered prayers for peace, unity, progress, and continued blessings upon the ASADE Royal Dynasty and the entire Ipokia community.
Guests were treated to an impressive array of delicacies, with a wide variety of meals generously served, reflecting the family’s long-standing tradition of hospitality. The event also featured the presentation of gifts and awards to invited guests and individuals who have made notable contributions to the unity, growth, and development of the dynasty.
In recent years, the ASADE Royal Dynasty Annual Celebration has continued to earn admiration within and beyond the community, with many families now looking to emulate the initiative. Speaking on the significance of the celebration, the Royal Secretary of the ASADE Royal Dynasty, Prince Adewale Mustapha Asade, described the event as more than a festive gathering.
“The ASADE Royal Day is more than a celebration; it is a platform for unity, documentation of our history, and grooming the younger generation to understand where they come from. We are deliberate in ensuring that our traditions are preserved in harmony with our Islamic faith, and this unity remains our greatest strength,” he said.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Central Planning Committee, Prince Ganiu Adelani, expressed satisfaction with the success of the event and the impressive turnout.
“The overwhelming participation and positive feedback show how deeply the ASADE Royal family values togetherness. This celebration is about bonding, culture, and continuity.
