The Chairman of Ewekoro Local Government, Hon. Adesina Sikiru Adisa, on Thursday received the newly appointed Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Sector Commander for Ewekoro, Corps Commander Babatunde Gold, during a courtesy visit to his office at the Ewekoro Local Government Secretariat, Itori, underscoring renewed commitments to road safety and inter-agency collaboration in the area.
The visit, which was described as both symbolic and strategic, marked the first official engagement between the local government leadership and the new FRSC helmsman following his assumption of office. The meeting focused on strengthening partnership in traffic management, accident prevention and community safety awareness across the local government area.
Welcoming the commander and his delegation, Hon. Adisa described the FRSC as an indispensable ally in the quest to promote safer roads and orderly transportation within Ewekoro.
“On behalf of the government and the good people of Ewekoro Local Government, I sympathize with you on the loss of your former commander. Today, we warmly welcome you and appreciate your visit. Your presence further energises us to continue serving our people,” the chairman said.
He further assured the FRSC of the council’s unwavering support, stressing that the local administration would continue to provide necessary logistics and institutional backing to enhance the Corps’ operations in line with the development blueprint of Ogun State.
“We will keep doing our best to support the ISEYA Agenda of our Governor, His Excellency Prince (Dr.) Dapo Abiodun, CON,” Adisa added.
In his response, Corps Commander Babatunde Gold commended the chairman for what he described as “visible and impactful leadership,” noting that the level of infrastructural development and administrative efficiency in Ewekoro was among the best he had encountered in the state.
“I must commend your good works across the local government. You have demonstrated that the ISEYA Agenda is truly alive in Ewekoro,” he said. “I am highly impressed with the Secretariat edifice—one of the best I have visited in the state. My officers have also testified to your continuous support for our team. You are doing exceptionally well, Mr. Chairman, and I encourage you to keep it up.”
The FRSC commander emphasized that the Corps would intensify public enlightenment campaigns, routine patrols and collaborative operations with other security and safety agencies to reduce road crashes and improve compliance with traffic regulations within the council area.
Also present at the meeting were the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Adewale M. Aladeselu; the Director of General Services and Administration, Mr. Anigboro; and other senior management staff of the council.
The engagement ended with mutual assurances of sustained cooperation, as both parties reiterated their shared commitment to safeguarding lives and property through proactive road safety management across Ewekoro Local Government Area.
