The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has relieved the Acting Executive Chairman of the Federal Capital Territory Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS), Mr. Michael Ango, of his duties.

The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Friday by the Minister’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication and Social Media, Lere Olayinka. According to the statement, the decision is part of ongoing efforts by the FCT Administration to reposition the revenue agency for greater efficiency, transparency, and improved service delivery.

Although the statement did not disclose the specific reasons for Ango’s removal, it emphasized that the minister has directed the most senior official within the agency to immediately assume leadership and ensure that operations continue without interruption.

The directive is expected to stabilize the management of the FCT-IRS as the administration intensifies reforms aimed at boosting revenue generation and strengthening institutional performance across the territory.

Olayinka assured the public that further updates regarding the leadership and restructuring of the agency would be provided in due course.

The FCT-IRS plays a critical role in the administration’s financial framework, and the swift transition in leadership underscores the Minister’s resolve to maintain operational momentum and accountability within key institutions of the territory.
