Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Ayokunle Isiaka, the Deputy Chief Whip of Nigeria’s Federal House of Representatives, has steadily built a reputation as one of the most visible and impactful lawmakers representing the people of Ifo and Ewekoro Federal Constituency. His track record, marked by infrastructure development, educational support, agricultural assistance, and youth empowerment, has become the backbone of his growing popularity as conversations around a potential third term in office continue.
Over the years, Isiaka has executed numerous constituency projects that directly address the needs of communities across Ifo and Ewekoro. From providing solar-powered boreholes to constructing modern blocks of classrooms for primary and secondary schools, he has prioritized access to essential amenities and quality education. His consistent payment of WAEC fees for outstanding students has also opened doors for many young people who may otherwise struggle to continue their academic journeys.
Within the National Assembly, his leadership qualities have not gone unnoticed. His dedication to his oversight duties earned him a principal office position and eventually the chairmanship of Nigeria’s Constitution Review Committee—one of the most critical assignments in the legislature. These responsibilities reflect both the trust and respect he commands among his colleagues.
At the grassroots level, Isiaka’s collaboration with the local governments of Ifo and Ewekoro has strengthened governance and ensured that projects are felt directly by the communities. His empowerment programmes stand out as some of the most extensive in the constituency’s history. Constituents have benefitted from practical tools such as sewing machines, motorcycles, tricycles, grinding machines, refrigerators, and freezers—items that have helped many start or expand small businesses. His support for youth entrepreneurship, including providing capital for Kampala fabric trade, shows his commitment to helping young people become self-reliant.
Isiaka has also shown deep regard for farmers, distributing fertilisers, herbicides, and other agricultural inputs needed to improve productivity. One of his most celebrated achievements is the execution of the ecology fund project in Ifo, where he facilitated the construction of kilometres of drainage channels. This project brought long-awaited relief to communities that had faced devastating seasonal flooding for years.
Beyond projects and empowerment, Hon. Isiaka has facilitated job placements for many youths in federal agencies, helping reduce unemployment and encouraging productive engagement in society.
As discussions on a third term continue, many constituents point to his visible achievements as evidence of what he can still accomplish. Supporters believe that returning him to the House of Representatives would ensure continuity in infrastructural development, scholarship programmes, empowerment initiatives, and broader community support.
