President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has unveiled a transformative agricultural agenda, backed by ₦826.5 billion 2025 budget, international partnerships, and sweeping reforms, positioning Nigeria for food security and reduced import reliance.

The administration’s initiatives include a ₦100 billion National Agricultural Development Fund, widespread fertilizer and seed distribution to millions of farmers, and a 500,000-hectare Dry Season Farming Initiative to boost production.

Global deals with Brazil, Belarus, and the U.S., alongside modern mechanization efforts, are driving what analysts call Nigeria’s most ambitious agricultural transformation in decades.

Following Tinubu’s declaration of a State of Emergency on Food Security, the reforms aim to empower farmers and reshape the nation’s agricultural landscape, with early results signaling a robust push toward self-sufficiency.
