The 100 years centenary celebration of the Baptist Church, Afon, Imeko Afon Local Government Area, witnessed a remarkable turnout of prominent personalities on Saturday 25th of October 2025, as Engr. Ogundele Jamiu, a passionate advocate for community and youth development, joined the congregation to mark the historic milestone.


The well-attended event had notable dignitaries including:


Hon. Bolaji Oyeleye, former Commissioner for Environment, representing Distinguished Sen. Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, FCA (YAYI) who happens to be the Chief Luncher 


Hon. Idowu Matthew Idomaa who is Representing Hon. Gboyega Nasir Isiaka (MHR) for Yewa North/Imeko Afon Federal Constituency who is also a Co- Chief Luncher











Alhaji Akingbade Jemili, Member, Ogun State House of Assembly representing Imeko/Afon State Constituency


Chief Tosin Adeluyi, former Chairman, Imeko/Afon Local Government


Hon. Monday Sangobunmi, Vice Chairman, Imeko/Afon Local Government


Alhaji Yahya Salami, YAYI Coordinator, Zone 2 Imeko/Afon

Speaking at the event, Engr. Ogundele reaffirmed his unshaken commitment to the growth and development of God’s work, particularly in Donating to the Fundraising Luncheon for the purchase of a Brand New evangelism Bus and the construction of an Ultra-Modern Church Auditorium.


He noted that the church has played a vital role in spiritual and moral upliftment for generations, and he congratulated the entire Baptist family on the landmark 100-year anniversary.


Engr. Ogundele continues to stand as a strong ally of community transformation, education advancement, and youth empowerment across Imeko Afon Local Government.
