CBN Governor Hosts WTO Director-General Okonjo-Iweala in Abuja

The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Olayemi Cardoso, welcomed Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director-General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), for a high-level working visit at the CBN Head Office in Abuja on Thursday, August 14, 2025. 


The meeting focused on strengthening Nigeria’s role in global trade and advancing discussions on critical trade matters.


According to a post on the CBN’s official X handle, the visit included key stakeholders such as the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, and Nigeria’s Ambassador to the WTO, Amb. (Dr.) Adamu Abdulhamid. 


The discussions centered on Nigeria’s engagement with international trade frameworks and strategies to enhance economic cooperation.
