The University of Uyo has been plunged into mourning following the untimely death of Prince Josiah, a 100-level student of Petroleum Engineering.
Josiah reportedly collapsed during a friendly football match on Monday, July 21, 2025, at the Sun City field within the university campus. Eyewitnesses say he had shown no prior signs of illness before the incident. His coursemates immediately rushed to assist and took him to a nearby clinic, where a doctor recommended urgent hospital treatment.
He was initially taken to Anua General Hospital, where the attending doctor allegedly refused to treat him. He was then transferred to Premier Hospital but was pronounced de@d on arrival.
Prince Josiah was buried the following day, Tuesday, July 22, 2025.
Condolences have poured in for his family, friends, and members of the Department of Petroleum Engineering, especially his colleagues in the 024 class and the wider Faculty of Engineering.
